  • No Hidden Fees: The Book Store & Vinyl Cafe does not add hidden costs, handling fees, processing fees, or unauthorized charges to your order. The price you see at checkout is the final price you pay

5. Payment Processing

When Payments Are Processed

Payments are processed immediately upon order placement. When you click “Place Order” or “Complete Purchase”:

  • Your payment method will be charged in full for the total order amount
  • Payment authorization is obtained from your bank or card issuer
  • If payment is successful, you will receive an Order Confirmation Email with your order number, receipt, and order details
  • Your order will then be queued for processing and shipment

Payment Declined or Failed

If your payment is declined, interrupted, or failed to process:

  • You will be notified immediately on the checkout page
  • Your order will not be confirmed or processed
  • No charge will be applied to your account
  • You will not receive an order confirmation email

Common reasons for payment decline:

Order Confirmation

Once payment is successfully completed:

  • This email will include your order number, items purchased, shipping address, and total amount charged
  • Please save this email for your records
  • If you do not receive a confirmation email within 1 hour, please check your spam/junk folder or contact us

6. Refunds and Cancellations

Order Cancellations

If you need to cancel your order:

  • Contact us immediately at info@thebookstorevinylcafe.com with your order number
  • If your order has not yet been processed or shipped, we will cancel it and issue a full refund
  • If your order has already been shipped, you will need to follow our return process (see Return and Refund Policy)

Refund Processing

Refunds (if approved) are always processed back to the original payment method used at checkout:

  • Refund Timeline: Refunds are processed within 7-10 business days after we receive and inspect your return
  • Bank Processing Time: Please allow an additional 3-7 business days for your bank or credit card company to post the refund to your account
  • Refund Confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed
  • Refund Amount: The full purchase price will be refunded. Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (defective, damaged, or incorrect item)

Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be issued in cases where:

  • The returned item shows signs of use beyond initial inspection
  • The item is returned without original packaging or accessories
  • The return is initiated after the 30-day return window

7. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

We are committed to resolving payment issues quickly and fairly. In most cases, disputes can be resolved more efficiently by working directly with us rather than through the chargeback process.

If you initiate a chargeback:

8. Pre-Authorization Holds

When you place an order, your payment method may be temporarily authorized (a “hold” or “pending charge”) to ensure sufficient funds are available. This authorization is converted to an actual charge once your order is confirmed and processed. If an order is cancelled before shipment, the authorization hold will be released by your bank within 3-7 business days.

9. Split Payments

At this time, we do not support split payments (paying with multiple payment methods for a single order). Each order must be paid in full using one payment method only.

10. Gift Cards and Store Credit

If you have a gift card or store credit, you may apply it at checkout. If your gift card or store credit does not cover the full order amount, you must pay the remaining balance using one of our accepted payment methods.

11. Price Matching and Adjustments

We do not offer price matching or post-purchase price adjustments at this time. All sales are final at the price confirmed at checkout.
